The Toronto Maple Leafs are trying to secure a third-line center at the trade deadline and one of the candidates is Scott Laughton of the Philadelphia Flyers.
Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving is hard at work right now looking for ways to improve his team prior to the trade deadline.
The team has just three days to make a move before they are no longer allowed to do so and fans are very anxious about whether or not a trade will actually get done.
However, Philadelphia Flyers center Scott Laughton is reportedly on the Maple Leafs' radar and his recent social media activity seems to suggest he knows he is about to be traded.
Are the Toronto Maple Leafs trading for Scott Laughton
There are about eight different teams who would be interested in procuring Laughton's services although at this stage, the Leafs seem to be frontrunners.
In fact, a report from Darren Dreger of TSN suggests that the Flyers center would "love" to come play for Toronto. After all, they are his hometown team.
Many people close to Flyers F Scott Laughton believe that he «would love to suit up» for his hometown Maple Leafs if there's a trade that makes sense.
At this point, it is unknown what the price for Laughton would be given his production this season.
In 58 games, he has 11 goals and 27 points, which isn't amazing, but it is also important to remember he is playing for a struggling Flyers team.
Overall, Scott Laughton could be a huge help to the Leafs and he would also be an upgrade from Max Domi at center. In this scenario, Domi likely gets pushed to the right or left wing.
This week is definitely going to be very interesting, and we're sure fans are eager to see what the Leafs decide to do. If a trade isn't made, there will be a lot of disappointed folks out there.
