Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph are two voices of the Toronto Maple Leafs and somehow, they will not be part of the upcoming games against the Ottawa Senators.

If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, then you know just how amazing Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph are. They have been doing games on the radio for decades and are icons of the team.
With the team in the playoffs and up 2-0 on the Ottawa Senators, fans are tuning into Bowen and Ralph more than ever before.
This week, the series is headed to Ottawa, but both men won't be coming.

Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph are not going to Ottawa

The Toronto Maple Leafs and the radio station were called out Leafs Morning Take today as Nick Alberga revealed the news concerning these two legends.
As he notes, because of a post-pandemic rule, neither of these legends can even go to Ottawa which is just a few hours away.
I find out that Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph will not be travelling with the Maple Leafs. These are two legends in this market. You turn on the radio, you've done it a billion times, I've done it a billion times; you hear Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph cover the Maple Leafs games.

They don't travel because this is a post-pandemic thing. Well, newsflash it's 2025. I couldn't believe my ears and mind when I heard this from multiple people in the press box last night.
Jay Rosehill was not a fan of this news and said that something has got to change immediately.
It's kind of surprising, there has to be someone in the executive branch who made that call. They're a staple, you go and shoot the s*** with them, you see them in the lobby, say hi, they're there. The voices are iconic, you don't even need to see them you know what they look like just from hearing them.

It's sad they aren't coming, it's not a money thing, it makes me think somebody yup there has decided they don't want that around the team. It's probably a stupid reason that someone in power decided to shut that down.

At the end of the day, the league, its teams and its broadcasters have final say in what they decide to do.
If the series goes to a Game 5 we will get to see Bowen and Ralph back in the booth, so there is still a lot to look forward to.
