The Toronto Maple Leafs are taking on the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight and while they are fighting their own fight, the Washington Capitals could benefit.
With the NHL playoffs on the horizon, there has been a lot of talk about matchups and who is going to play who in a couple of weeks from now.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are in a fight for the Atlantic Division and the fans are hopeful that they can get the first seed on their side of the bracket.
Tonight, the Leafs are playing the Tampa Bay Lightning and a win would put them four points up with only four games to go.

On the other side of the bracket, the Washington Capitals have been sensational this season and are very close to getting the number one seed in the entire Western Conference.
In fact, the Maple Leafs can do the Caps a huge favor tonight. By losing against the Lightning, they would ensure that the Capitals win the Eastern Conference, against all odds.
Capitals will clinch the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference if the Maple Leafs lose to the Lightning in regulation tonight.
Halfway through tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Leafs are up by a score of 2-1 which isn't the best scenario for the Capitals.
However, this is very good for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are looking to win the Atlantic Division after years of not being able to do so.
The Leafs are a good team and if they can keep the good times rolling, then fans are going to be feeling very happy.
Only time will tell how this game ends and whether or not the Maple Leafs continue to prove themselves to be a team worthy of a deep playoff run.
