Toronto Maple Leafs Coach on the Verge of Being Stolen by Western Conference Bottom-Feeder

Just last week, the Seattle Kraken were given permission to speak to a Toronto Maple Leafs coach, and now, we have an update on how the meeting went down.
Now that the Toronto Maple Leafs' season is over, there is a lot of news pertaining to the team's offseason, and what kind of player movement they will see as of July 1st.
However, something that has flown under the radar is what is going to happen to the team's various assistant coaches.
After all, this Leafs team won the Atlantic Division, and head coach Craig Berube's staff was phenomenal from start to finish.
So much so that assistant coach Lane Lambert was approached by the Seattle Kraken for their vacant head coaching position. The Leafs gave the Kraken permission to speak with Lambert, and the interview has already taken place.
Will the Seattle Kraken hire Lane Lambert?
According to Elliotte Friedman, Lambert was impressive in the interview, and the Kraken have him close to the top of their list.
While there is no telling if they will hire him or not, a decision is expected to come down the pipeline very soon.

Lambert does have NHL coaching experience as he was the head coach for the New York Islanders once upon a time.
Whether or not he gets another opportunity like that is still to be determined. After all, head coaching jobs are incredibly competitive.
Either way, this is going to be an interesting storyline for fans to follow. Losing a player is one thing, but losing a coach is a whole new level of down bad.
Despite this, we wish Lambert the best of luck as a head coaching position would be truly well-deserved.
