William Nylander and Mitch Marner were great teammates on the Toronto Maple Leafs, and now, they are being pitted against one another in dramatic fashion.
As the two best right-wingers on the Toronto Maple Leafs last season, there were certainly some major comparisons between William Nylander and Mitch Marner.
Of course, both players are very different from one another. One guy is more of a goal-scorer, while the other is a playmaker.
Now, Marner is on the Las Vegas Golden Knights, and fans cannot wait to see these two go head-to-head for a couple of games this season.
William Nylander or Mitch Marner?
Having said that, the NHL just ranked William Nylander as the sixth-best winger in the entire league. Meanwhile, Marner was ranked fifth.
This has sparked a debate about which player is better. It is almost as if the NHL did all of this on purpose.
As you can see in the tweets below, there is a strong contrast of differing opinions when it comes to the Nylander and Marner debate.
Some fans believe that Nylander is being severely overrated right now. Meanwhile, there are other fans out there who think Nylander is better because he scores more goals.
Whatever the case may be, there is no denying that these are two very solid players who deserve a lot of credit and deserve their superstardom.
Whether either of them can have career seasons remains to be seen. Although fans of the Maple Leafs will certainly be rooting for Nylander to have the season of his life.
