Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nicolas Roy grew up in Quebec, and while many would assume his allegiance is with the Montreal Canadiens, that appears to be false.
Nicolas Roy is someone that a lot of Toronto Maple Leafs fans have their eyes on going into this season, and for very good reason.
Overall, he was part of the Mitch Marner trade to the Las Vegas Golden Knights, and while no one expects 102 points, they do expect a solid effort.
However, based on Roy's history and hockey fandom, Leafs supporters can expect a whole lot out of the forward.

Recently, Roy was on 'Leafs Morning Take,' where he talked about his upbringing in Amos, Quebec, and how he was never a Montreal Canadiens fan.
Instead, he was one of those few Quebec kids who preferred to root for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
I was a Leafs fan, which is pretty crazy for a guy from Quebec. I was a Mats Sundin fan, but I think I was about 11 or 12 when he signed in Vancouver, so I switched. I was kind of mad a little bit about it. I went back to Montreal at that point, but growing up when I was younger, it was Toronto for sure.
Being a Mats Sundin fan is certainly a good way to get the fans in Toronto to like you, and Roy is finding that out pretty quickly.
Going into this upcoming season, the forward is expected to be a third-line center, with Nick Robertson and Dakota Joshua as his linemates.
These are going to be solid lines for the Leafs, and we cannot wait to see how they gel once the season starts in a few months from now.
Roy is an exciting player to have, and if he elevates his game in Toronto, then the sign-and-trade will have been worth it.
