Toronto Maple Leafs Make Key Starting Goalie Decision With a Lot on the Line Tonight

With the NHL playoffs on the horizon, the Toronto Maple Leafs need to name a starting goalie and they need to do so quickly.

As it stands, Anthony Stolarz seems like the most obvious option. Three shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.21 and a save percentage of .923 are hard to argue against.

Moreover, he has won his last seven starts which is a career high. He looks great out there and this is what Leafs fans have been wanting to see.

Tonight, the Leafs are playing the Buffalo Sabres and the objective is clear: get one point and secure the Atlantic Division.

All the boys need to do tonight is get into overtime and the point is secured. As a result, they are going with Anthony Stolarz, who most recently got a shutout against the Montreal Canadiens.

Meanwhile, the Leafs play the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday and it is safe to say that Joseph Woll will be getting that start, especially if Stollie is the guy for the postseason.

Meanwhile, Joseph Woll remains a solid goaltender and if he is needed, we have no doubt that he will be able to rise to the occasion for his teammates.

Hopefully, either of these two goalies can bring the Leafs some playoff success as the fans have been desperately wanting something to cheer for.
