The Toronto Maple Leafs are likely to play the Ottawa Senators in the first round of the NHL playoffs and some insiders aren't convinced of this matchup.
With the NHL playoffs beginning this weekend, it is looking likelier than ever that the Leafs are going to play against the Ottawa Senators in the first round.
All they need to do over the course of their next two games is get just one point out of four, and they will have secured the Atlantic Division, which is great news.
At this point, fans are very hopeful for the Battle of Ontario to take shape, especially since this matchup should be a favorable one.
Will the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Ottawa Senators
Having said that, there are some insider and analysts out there who do not share the same opinion.
For instance, Frank Seravalli believes the Ottawa Senators will defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs in six games. A disastrous result indeed.

However, his co-host, Jason Gregor, completely disagrees with that assessment. Instead, he believes the Maple Leafs will win the series in six.

The Leafs and Senators results from this season certainly did not favor the Maple Leafs at all, however, the playoffs are a much different beast.
Overall, the Maple Leafs are playing their best hockey of the season right now and with some defenseman coming back into the lineup, they should be good to go.
However, past playoff failures are certainly influencing how the analysts feel about this time right now, which is definitely fair game.
