MLSE CEO Keith Pelley is the man at the top of the Toronto Maple Leafs right now, and his expectations for the franchise are crystal clear at this point.
Keith Pelley is the new CEO of MLSE, and if one thing is for certain, it is that he wants the
Toronto Maple Leafs to win a Stanley Cup during his tenure.
It is certainly not a given that this is going to happen. However, his yearning for a Stanley Cup is nice to see, and it is putting a battery in the back of the team.
If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, you have to appreciate ownership having a hands-on approach. If you are Brad Treliving and Craig Berube, you are probably feeling some pressure.
Keith Pelley has a message for the Toronto Maple Leafs
In fact, Pelley recently spoke to the media, where he made it very clear what he is expecting from the team over the coming decade.
He claimed that it is "go time" and that he believes Treliving and Berube are the right people in charge to take the team where it needs to be.
You know the age of this team. It's go time. And I think we have two leaders, in Brad and Chief, to hopefully take us to the promised land.
During the Summer, Pelley fired Brendan Shanahan, and now, the team is without a President. Instead, Treliving is partly taking on that role.
Moreover, Berube has a bigger role with the front office, which has led to lots of speculation about what he is actually doing these days.
Whether or not Keith Pelley actually helps this Maple Leafs team win a Stanley Cup still very much remains to be seen.
Although, for now, it is clear that he wants this team to go far, or there will be consequences to those left in charge.
