Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi had a difficult season, although it would appear as though the homegrown talent is now garnering trade interest.
With just eight goals in 74 games this season, there is no denying that
Max Domi didn't have the best campaign of his career.
Fans were understandably disappointed in his production, although he did have some big moments in the playoffs, which was very nice to see.
Will the Toronto Maple Leafs trade Max Domi?
While some thought that Domi might be untradeable, that appears not to be the case, at least not according to James Mirtle of The Athletic.
In his latest report, he revealed that numerous teams are going to want Domi, especially with the forward shortage on the UFA market this season.
On the Leaf Report, James Mirtle says that some teams think Domi is interesting, and there's a lot of teams lacking talent up front that might want to add a player like that-it is possible the Leafs can move him
Mirtle adds the Leafs are trying to trade Kampf and Jarnkrok, but haven't been able to yet. Those two might have to wait until after July 1st
Essentially, teams are poking around on the forward, and this means we could see a trade. If general manager Brad Treliving wanted to move on from Domi, he could probably do so.
Trading the forward would be tough when you consider just how much love and appreciation Domi has for the Toronto Maple Leafs organization.
However, the NHL is a very tough business, and sometimes, you have to make unpopular choices for the benefit of everyone involved.
Only time will tell what happens next and whether or not the Leafs can make this a summer to remember from a player personnel standpoint.
