Toronto Maple Leafs Reportedly Receiving Offers for Brandon Carlo

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Brandon Carlo is still relatively new to the franchise, although market conditions have put Brad Treliving in a bit of a bad spot.
When the Toronto Maple Leafs traded a first-round pick and Fraser Minten for Brandon Carlo, the expectation was that the defenseman would stick around for the long haul.
Unfortunately, with the Leafs lacking assets for big blockbuster trades, Carlo is now being brought up as a potential bargaining chip. The Leafs could get multiple draft picks for him, and it would give general manager Brad Treliving some flexibility.
There are some fans who are completely against the idea, and we understand why. After all, Carlo has the potential to be a huge part of this team going forward.

However, it does seem like Treliving truly is kicking tires on a trade right now. According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff Live, there are numerous interested teams.
The Leafs are starting to get some offers on the defenseman, but at this stage, it doesn't seem like Treliving is actually taking these offers seriously.

With the NHL Draft coming up on Friday night, the Leafs do not have a single first-round pick. However, they could be in a position to make some trades to get better draft positions.
While Carlo may not get them premium picks, he could at least give the Leafs something. At this stage, anything would be better than nothing at all.
Hopefully, the Leafs can find a way to keep Carlo on the team. It would be a shame for him to have to go after just a few months with the franchise.
However, the business of hockey is a cruel one, and you never know what may happen next.
