Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs took on the Seattle Kraken and were able to win the game by a score of 4-1.
Overall, this was a very solid showing, especially with William Nylander scoring a total of 2 goals, to bring his season tally up to 8. He was sensational and as a whole, the team played a very solid game. It was the type of game that you love to see as a Toronto Maple Leafs fan. It was also a great way to humble the Kraken who had just defeated the Montreal Canadiens, 8-2.
Goaltender Joseph Woll was also a brick wall during the game. He turned aside 24 out of 25 shots and he was even the second star of the game. Ever since he came back from injury, the Leafs have gotten some pep in their step, and it will be interesting to see how this continues for the Leafs.
However, there was one area of the game in which the Leafs were absolutely awful last night and that was the Power Play. They ended up 0-2 which now brings their season percentage down to 9.4 percent. The team is ranked 29th in the league regarding the Power Play, which is unacceptable when you have all that firepower.
On Saturday night, the Toronto Maple Leafs will take on the St. Louis Blues. The last time these two teams played, the Blues came away victorious. The Leafs will be looking for vengeance and one of the best ways to do that would be getting this power play in check.
