The Toronto Maple Leafs need some offensive firepower on their roster right now, and there is a Boston Bruins center who could provide that for them.
Overall, the offseason has been pretty boring, at least for the last few weeks now. Fans have been hoping for something cool to happen, but instead, crickets.
Having said that, now that we are in the month of August, teams are expected to get a bit more active here. Training camps are about to begin, and this could bring forth some major moves.
One team that is supposedly shopping around players is the Boston Bruins, who need to start garnering pieces for a rebuild of sorts.
In fact, according to reporter James Murphy, the Boston Bruins could be looking to trade center Casey Mittelstadt, who is coming off a 40-point season between the Bruins and the Colorado Avalanche.
Casey Mittelstadt could potentially be on the move, according to sources
Despite being rivals, the Leafs and Bruins have never shied away from doing business with one another, and this could very well lead to a move soon enough.
The big issue with Mittelstadt, however, is that he is making $5.75 million per season, which is a bit of a hard pill to swallow.
However, if the Bruins are kind enough to retain some salary, then perhaps there is some business to be done here.
