The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers are about to embark on a best-of-seven series in the second round of the NHL Playoffs and fans are very excited.
The Florida Panthers and the Toronto Maple Leafs are going to be playing each other in the second round of the playoffs.
Despite winning the Atlantic Division, the Leafs are the underdogs in this series, especially after the Panthers leveled a beatdown on the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Overall, both teams are going to be at war with one another and fans are still trying to find out when Game 1 will take place.
Maple Leafs vs. Panthers
Of course, we know that this game is going to go down in Toronto as the Leafs have home ice throughout the entire series.
After Pierre LeBrun revealed that the first game would take place on either Saturday, Sunday, or Monday, we now have an official update from Chris Johnston. Essentially, expect Game 1 to take place on Monday.
Not 100% confirmed yet, so don't go making (or breaking) any important plans, but the expectation seems to be that Game 1 of the Leafs-Panthers series will go Monday night in Toronto.
This absolutely makes the most sense as it allows for both teams to make their travel arrangements and get into the city in a reasonable time frame.
The Toronto Maple Leafs will be trying to feast on the energy of the crowd in this game. It makes sense as they need every advantage they can get.
During the regular season, these teams played each other fairly evenly, although the Panthers definitely appeared like the better team at times.
Only time will tell how this series will go and whether or not the Maple Leafs can prove they truly are the best team here.
