The Toronto Maple Leafs completed a Mitch Marner sign-and-trade with the Las Vegas Golden Knights on Monday, and there are some teams that are none too pleased.

Yesterday, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Las Vegas Golden Knights combined for a blockbuster sign-and-trade involving Mitch Marner.
While both teams are happy with the bit of business they completed, there are some teams who aren't feeling so great about this recent arrangement.

Los Angeles Kings miss out on Mitch Marner

According to Pierre LeBrun, that team just so happens to be the Los Angeles Kings, who were rumored to be in the running for Marner.
Members of the front office were going to fly to Toronto to meet with Marner, but they ultimately had to cancel their flights upon news of the sign-and-trade.
LeBrun on Insider Trading says Kings are probably one of the most disappointed teams when it comes to the Mitch Marner sign-and-trade, they learned they were on his shortlist and they were going to fly in and meet with him on July 1. Obviously that flight has been cancelled now.
It is easy to see why the Kings would be upset with the Leafs and the Knights for this bit of business, especially with all of the tampering allegations going around.
At this point, however, it is what it is. The Maple Leafs have gotten rid of Marner, and now, they can finally move on from this dramatic saga.
As for the Golden Knights, they will continue to be Stanley Cup contenders for many years to come.
Only time will tell which of these teams comes out better and which one goes deeper in the playoffs next season.
