William Nylander Makes Dismissive Comments About the Toronto Maple Leafs' Latest Win

William Nylander has been one of the best players on the Toronto Maple Leafs this season as he has 38 goals in 67 games and a total of 71 points.

Despite the up and down nature of the Maple Leafs' offense this season, the Swedish forward has been a beacon of consistency that fans have grown to appreciate.

Last night, Nylander had a goal and two assists in a 6-2 victory against the Calgary Flames on Amazon Prime Monday Night Hockey.

Overall, it was a big win for the Maple Leafs who had been dealing with a pretty bad losing skid over the past couple of weeks.

Coming into last night's game, Toronto had lost five of their last six games and had even fallen in two in a row. This made the Flames matchup that much more important and fans wanted a good performance.

That is exactly what they received, but William Nylander isn't trying to get ahead of himself. While speaking to the media, he offered up some brutally honest thoughts about the game.

While this is a pretty blunt reaction, it is also the right reaction. One game isn't enough to prove that this team is going to go deep in the playoffs.

With the Colorado Avalanche coming up on Wednesday and the New York Rangers on Thursday, the Leafs are going to need to be stout moving forward.

The Leafs are now two points behind the Florida Panthers for first in the Atlantic Division with a game in hand which certainly helps their playoff case.

Whether or not they can get the lead and keep it, still remains to be seen.
