Leafs Insider Nick Kypreos Called Out for Allegedly Spreading Misinformation About Mikko Rantanen

Nick Kypreos is an insider and analyst for Sportsnet who has certainly elicited some controversy over the years over his reporting.

He is someone who appears to be well-connected within the league, although fans don't necessarily take his word as gospel like they do with Elliotte Friedman or Darren Dreger.

Having said that, Kypreos was all over the Mikko Rantanen to the Toronto Maple Leafs story in March.
Now, he is making more new claims about Rantanen on his daily radio show "The Real Kyper and Bourne."

As you can read below, Kyper claims Rantanen went to the Dallas Stars because he could rub it in the face of the Colorado Avalanche numerous times per season. Although the wording he used was quite strong.

These comments went viral on social media, and not necessarily for the best of reasons.

As you can see down below, some fans simply do not believe that Rantanen said any of this. Subsequently, Kypreos was accused of spreading misinformation, or at the very least, exaggerating his report.

Whether or not any of this was embellished is unknown. That is not up to us to decide. However, there is no doubt that there is some sensitivity around the subject.
