Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz is recovering from what many believe is a concussion, and NHL insider Chris Johnston has new information.
Anthony Stolarz was taken out by
Sam Bennett during Game 1 of the second-round matchup between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers.
However, the silver lining in all of this is that
Joseph Woll played great in Game 2 and was able to secure the win and give this team a 2-0 lead in the series.
When will Anthony Stolarz return to the Toronto Maple Leafs?
Regardless, fans would love to know if it is at all possible for Anthony Stolarz to return to this series at some point. After all, they might need him.
Well, according to Chris Johnston of TSN, it is most certainly possible, but it will take about a week if the goaltender really entered concussion protocol.
This would mean Stolarz can only be back in time for Game 5. By then, the series could be all tied up at two games apiece.
With Joseph Woll playing good hockey right now, there is no reason to rush Stolarz back into the lineup. That would be a mistake.
Having said all of that, there is no doubt that fans wish they could expedite the process and get their starter into the net as soon as humanly possible.
Hopefully, the Maple Leafs are able to keep up their winning ways and maybe even put away the Florida Panthers early.
If they can do that, they would either play the Carolina Hurricanes or the Washington Capitals in the Eastern Conference Finals. It is unfathomable to think it's possible.
