Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner has been on a tear this season and he is capturing the attention of Tampa Bay Lightning head coach, Jon Cooper.
The roster is going to be revealed soon, and Maple Leafs fans are eager to see if the superstar made the team.
In the meantime, ahead of the Maple Leafs' win against the Lightning on Saturday night, Cooper was asked how he feels about Marner.
Cooper gave a compelling answer about how Marner has improved significantly over the years.
Jon Cooper is a fan of Mitch Marner
In fact, he gave one of those answers that makes you think the Lightning will want to pursue Marner in free agency.
Probably confidence and swag. He's always had it, but you see it in how he plays. You know I'm a massive Mitch Marner fan, being able to coach him in 2017. And he's always had it in him, but I think he's let it out a little bit more - and in a good way. You know, he's not showing off. He does everything with a purpose. And, man, it's amazing how he thinks the game. It's elite.
No matter what, it is clear that Marner is a player in demand, and he is having himself a sensational start to the NHL season.
In the Leafs' win against the Lightning on Saturday, he got himself another two assists.
He has also been the team's primary point-getter during a fantastic winning stretch in which the Leafs are 8-2 in their last 10 games.
