Auston Matthews Delivers Major Update on Anthony Stolarz's Condition

Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews had a big update about goaltender Anthony Stolarz ahead of Game 3 against the Florida Panthers.
Auston Matthews has done an excellent job as the captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs so far and there is no denying that his leadership has improved throughout the season.
During the NHL Playoffs, the captain has had to weather a few storms. One of which was the injury to goaltender Anthony Stolarz at the hands of Sam Bennett.
He has been quite diplomatic about the whole thing, and it is the kind of leadership the Maple Leafs need during this time.
Auston Matthews reveals Anthony Stolarz's status
On Thursday, the captain was asked about Stolarz and his condition moving forward. This led to an answer that will put smiles on the faces of Leafs Nation.
As Auston Matthews notes, Stolarz has been hanging out with his teammates and is even smiling. Although for now, the team will not be pressing him about what's wrong.
«He seems to be feeling better. He's been around the rink and stuff. It's good to see him. We really aren't trying to pester him with questions, just be there to support him. Hopefully he's back here soon.»
Based on current reports, Anthony Stolarz will only be able to return to the Toronto Maple Leafs as of next week, around Game 5.
However, if Joseph Woll plays well, then there will be no reason for the Maple Leafs to make that kind of change.
For now, fans should simply expect the Leafs to keep it pushing, especially up 2-0 in the series right now. Anything can happen, however, and tonight's Game 3 is a big one.
With only two goals in the playoffs so far, fans will be hoping for a big game from Auston Matthews. If he starts popping off, then the Leafs may just go on a deep run here.
