Just last week, the Toronto Maple Leafs traded away Conor Timmins and Connor Dewar to the Pittsburgh Penguins and they are already playing better.
Conor Timmins and Connor Dewar weren't exactly lighting the world on fire with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Upon arriving in Pittsburgh, both Timmins and Dewar have been immediate additions to the lineup and as it turns out, the Penguins are giving them an opportunity to succeed.
Conor Timmins and Connor Dewar find success outside of Toronto
Last night, Dewar and Timmins actually showed out for the Penguins as they each scored a goal. These two scoring in the same game is pretty rare and if you're a Leafs fan, you can't help but feel slighted.
The craziest part about all of this is the fact that it was Dewar's first goal of the entire season, which just shows you his lack of production.
In the one year that Connor Dewar and Conor Timmins were teammates in Toronto, they combined for one goal.
Both on the board for Pittsburgh tonight.
One has to wonder if this success is going to continue for guys like Timmins and Dewar.
After all, they are fringe NHL guys who are always going to be questionable as it pertains to their teams' nightly lineups.
However, as general hockey fans, you cannot help but be excited about their success and potential future in Pittsburgh.
At the end of the day, Kyle Dubas did us a favor with that move, and it ultimately worked out for all of the parties involved.
Besides, the Leafs are on their way to the playoffs while the Penguins continue to be in purgatory.
