Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly is coming off a difficult season with the team, and there are some analysts who believe he needs to make a change.

Morgan Rielly found himself in a bad situation this season as he went from 58 points in 72 games last season to 41 points in 82 games this season.
Furthermore, his defensive decline was apparent at times, and fans were getting increasingly frustrated with the veteran's constant mistakes and miscues.
This has subsequently led to talks about whether or not the Leafs would be better off trading Rielly and convincing him to waive his no-trade clause.

Will Morgan Rielly accept a trade?

Sportsnet analyst Nick Kypreos believes this is a completely ridiculous mentality to have. On 'The Real Kyper & Bourne,' Kypreos noted that it doesn't make sense for Rielly to stay somewhere he isn't welcome.
Whether you have a no-move or not, if it looks like it's not going anywhere or there isn't a mutual feel between two parties... then Morgan should consider lifting his no-move. Whatever the chemistry between him and the team and others... 'it's just not working and we're going to have to change something up. Give us a list.'
To say Rielly isn't welcome in Toronto is a bit of hyperbole, at least for right now. There is still a lot to figure out on that front, and most insiders believe the Leafs want to keep him.
Having said that, he is making $7.5 million per season until 2030, which is a bit of a problem for the Leafs, especially if he continues to underperform.
Ultimately, the Leafs have to figure some things out this summer. There is a lot riding on this offseason, and general manager Brad Treliving has to make the right choices.
All things considered, Nick Kypreos might just have a good point about all of this. It's a tough situation for everyone involved.
