Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies scored a gorgeous overtime winner against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Craig Berube and Auston Matthews were impressed.

Matthew Knies has been one of the breakout stars of the Toronto Maple Leafs this season as he now has 29 goals and 55 points in 74 games.
He is playing on a line with Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews which has fast-forwarded his development. Yesterday, Knies excited Leafs fans as he delivered a hat trick against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The hat trick goal came in overtime as the Maple Leafs forward tapped in a crispy pass from none other than Matthews.

However, prior to the goal, Knies made a cheeky move in which he made a through the legs pass to Morgan Rielly who ended up being stopped by Andrei Vasilevskiy.
It was a beautiful pass and it was a completely unnecessary one when you think about the circumstances. Regardless, fans loved every bit of it.
After the game, Matthews and Berube gave their reactions to the play, and they were quite funny. As you can imagine, Berube was a little surprised while Matthews simply could not believe what he was witnessing.
Matthews: «I was hopping on the ice, and I was having trouble believing what I was seeing in front of me.»

Berube: «I'm not sure I recommend that play, but guys try things. What, he tried in Michigan the other night? He's got confidence right now.»
This was a very important win for the Toronto Maple Leafs who are now going to play the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.
On Sunday, they play the Carolina Hurricanes before finishing their season against the Buffalo Sabres and the Detroit Red Wings.
If they manage to win three out of four of these games, they should be able to claim the Atlantic Division for the first time in 20 years. The schedule in front of them makes it very possible.
