Toronto Maple Leafs forward Scott Laughton suffered an injury during the preseason, and now, head coach Craig Berube is offering an update on his current status.
Scott Laughton was gearing up for a huge season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, especially since he is currently in a contract year.
This was going to be a wait-and-see approach for the Leafs. Unfortunately, due to Laughton's injury, they have been doing a lot more waiting than seeing.
The Leafs are 3-3-1 to start the season, and they could certainly use someone like Laughton right about now. His talents would add grit to the team, something the Leafs do not possess right now.

Now, Craig Berube is claiming that we could see Laughton back on the ice as of tomorrow's practice. Of course, this does not mean a return is imminent.
He's trending really well ... hopefully he is back on the ice with (the team) shortly.
Laughton would add flexibility to the roster, and it would also solidify the fourth line, which was buzzing during the preseason.
Steven Lorentz and
Easton Cowan had solid chemistry with the forward, and we have to assume that the head coach will reunite the three in a few weeks.
This is going to be an interesting few weeks for the Maple Leafs, as they need to get something done quickly. Otherwise, this season will be a wash.
Only time will tell whether or not Laughton can be the forward the team needed when they traded for him last season.
