Craig Berube Flabbergasted By Absurd Penalty Call Against Scott Laughton

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube was absolutely livid on Monday night after a truly ridiculous penalty call on newly-acquired forward Scott Laughton.
Last night proved to be huge for the Toronto Maple Leafs as they snapped their three-game losing streak with a win against the Utah Hockey Club.
The game was won in a shootout and it was ultimately Mitch Marner who got to play the hero with the game-winning goal.

Having said that, one of the big stories in the game was when the Leafs ended up going down two men, with the second penalty being against newly-acquired center Scott Laughton.
As you can see in the clips below, Laughton gave a light cross-check to the back of a Utah player who then dove to the ice.
Berube was absolutely livid that the forward was assessed a penalty. Luckily, the team was able to kill off the 5-on-3 and get the win.
After the game, Craig Berube spoke about the officiating and noted that he just felt like this was a dive, plain and simple.
"Nothing, really. To me, it is just a dive. You are already down a man. It has to be pretty blatant to get a 5-on-3. The guys did a good job and killed it off. Wollsy made a couple of big saves there. It was a big part of the game there for us."
Now, the Toronto Maple Leafs will wait for Thursday when they play the Florida Panthers who now boast the services of Brad Marchand.
This is going to be a fascinating game and mostly because there are huge playoff implications with both teams fighting for first place in the Atlantic Division.
The Leafs are trying to get the most favorable playoff matchup possible, and that means winning games against rivals like Florida.
