NHL Insider Darren Dreger is being accused by Toronto Maple Leafs fans of allegedly working alongside Mitch Marner, his father Paul, and agent Darren Ferris.
Darren Dreger has always been a bit of a controversial figure when it comes to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and it is all thanks to his reports on Mitch Marner
For years, there have been accusations that Dreger is being paid by Mitch Marner's agent, Darren Ferris, and his father, Paul.
Of course, there is no evidence to back any of this up. The only thing that fans have to go off of is that Dreger has always been kind to Marner in the media. Furthermore, he tends to inflate Marner's value with his lofty reports about salary expectations.
For instance, today, Dreger reported on TSN 1050 OverDrive that there are some teams who might be willing to pay over $14 million per season for the superstar winger's services.
I think there are teams that would pay Marner north of $14 million.
That is a whole lot of cash, and when you consider how Mikko Rantanen is only making $12 million per season, you quickly realize just how wild Dreger's report is.

Overall, this is not the first time that Darren Ferris has been accused of trying to muddy the waters this offseason. Meanwhile, Marner's camp was accused of the same thing six years ago.
Clearly, there is a lack of trust here, and some Leafs fans are operating from a place of pure paranoia.
