Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand is on the Toronto Maple Leafs' radar heading into free agency, and Darren Dreger has the latest on whether or not it happens.
Overall, he is a phenomenal player, even at 37. Just a couple of nights ago, he scored the game-winning goal in double overtime during the Stanley Cup Finals.
He is a guy who still has a whole lot to give, and it should come as no surprise that the
Toronto Maple Leafs are hoping to add him this summer.
Is Brad Marchand coming to the Toronto Maple Leafs?
Darren Dreger has been following the Leafs closely, and recently, he stated that the Toronto Maple Leafs wouldn't be able to attract a guy like
Sam Bennett.
However,
Marchand is a different story. The Canadian superstar played for the Boston Bruins, which is a tough market. Therefore, he has the constitution needed to stomach a place like Toronto.
Marchand is a little bit different. Maybe he is the best of the three options in terms of not being afraid of the environment given what he went through in Boston
Ultimately, Brad Marchand has a lot to think about right now. The Stanley Cup Finals have barely started, so it is going to be a while before we get a real sense of where Marchy stands heading into the summer.
If there is one thing for certain, it is that Leafs fans would love to have Marchand on board. He has tortured the Leafs throughout his career, so to get him on their side would be a big bonus.
General Manager Brad Treliving has his work cut out for him. There are so many little storylines he has to deal with, and the media will be on top of all of them.
Until then, we are looking forward to the conclusion of the Stanley Cup Finals, which is shaping up to be a classic.
