Toronto Maple Leafs forward David Kampf is currently suspended without pay, and he is trying to get his situation figured out sooner rather than later.

David Kampf and the Toronto Maple Leafs have decided to pause their relationship. The forward is suspended without pay, although the situation is amicable.
This all started last weekend when Kampf decided to refuse travel with the Toronto Marlies. He was not happy with his AHL predicament and took a stand.
Now, the Leafs and Kampf are looking to come to a solution. It is expected that this will be resolved by the weekend, although Darren Dreger seems to have yet another update on what is going on.

David Kampf and the Toronto Maple Leafs hash it out

Essentially, Kampf and his agent are hard at work, weighing all of their options. Based on Dreger's reporting, a decision will be made by Monday.
This is a big update, although the one caveat is that the Leafs could end up putting an end to this sooner if they make a trade before then.
David Kampf and his agent, JP Barry are exploring all of their options and will decide by Monday. Technically, Kampf remains suspended by the Maple Leafs/Marlies.
The Toronto Maple Leafs would love for this to be done sooner rather than later. After all, you never want to deal with these disputes for longer than you have to.
Kampf has no path to getting on the Maple Leafs roster this season, and we're sure he would much rather go to another team entirely.
Having said that, we are very excited to see what the Leafs are able to do going forward. Hopefully, they find a solution that works for all parties.
If not, then this could blow up quite significantly. Although with both sides on good terms, we expect this will resolve in short order.
