Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Chris Tanev is currently dealing with a concussion, although a new development has proven to be a huge surprise.

Chris Tanev went down with a concussion against the Philadelphia Flyers last weekend, and it was a very scary scene for everyone involved.
Tanev had to be taken off the ice on a stretcher, and he was even taken to the hospital. It was a pretty horrible thing to witness, but thankfully, he was released the next morning.
The defenseman has been out of commission for the last week, and it has been expected that he would miss a few weeks, especially after suffering a concussion a few weeks ago.
However, the Toronto Maple Leafs got some good news earlier today during morning skate that might just surprise some of the fans out there.

Chris Tanev back on the ice for the Toronto Maple Leafs

According to Mark Masters, Chris Tanev was on the ice. While he did not skate with teammates, he did get on the ice by himself.
It was very cool to see, and it shows that Tanev is a warrior who can overcome almost anything that comes his way.
There is still no timeline for Tanev's return, and fans should not expect him to play. Having said that, it is clear that he is feeling good right now.
If you are feeling good enough to skate, then that is a positive sign going forward. Only time will tell whether or not Tanev can continue to progress.
Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs will continue to look forward to tonight, as the team is set to take on the Boston Bruins. On Sunday, they play the Carolina Hurricanes.
We continue to wish Tanev the best as he looks to recover from his second concussion of the NHL season.
