Fraser Minten was traded by the Toronto Maple Leafs to the Boston Bruins at the trade deadline and it was a disappointment for everyone involved.
One of the more beloved prospects on the Toronto Maple Leafs was Fraser Minten, who got into 15 games this season, picking up two goals and two assists.
Unfortunately, it was clear that he was not ready for the NHL and had to spend most of his time with the Toronto Marlies.
Come the trade deadline, the Maple Leafs had a tough decision to make, and they ultimately moved Minten to the Boston Bruins for Brandon Carlo.

Since the trade, Minten has played nine games with the Providence Bruins where he currently boasts three goals and four assists.
While speaking with Mark Masters, the forward offered up some honest yet heartbreaking comments about being traded away by the team that drafted him.

Playing for the Maple Leafs must be a cool feeling and we can imagine how weird it must be for the forward to go to a rival.
However, it seems like the Bruins are in a rebuild which means a guy like Minten will prove to be very valuable. The forward should be excited about his opportunity.
As for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Carlo has been solid and so far, the trade is definitely justifiable, even if fans are sad to see a guy like Minten walk.
Hopefully, Minten continues to get opportunities to prove himself at the NHL level. He has potential and he deserves to have it fully realized.
