Mitch Marner is now a member of the Las Vegas Golden Knights, and while the Toronto Maple Leafs got something out of it, tampering is still on the table.
This was quite the bombshell from Elliotte Friedman, and it immediately sent shockwaves throughout the National Hockey League.
However, on Monday, the Leafs and Golden Knights made peace, and now Marner will be in Las Vegas for the next eight years.

Nicolas Roy deal has deterred the Leafs from saying anything.

While the NHL would like to make an example out of someone, that example is not going to come anytime soon.
Instead, Marner and the Golden Knights will get to enjoy what could be a long and fruitful relationship with one another. The fans are excited, and Marner is too.
Overall, things are going to get very interesting, and one has to wonder whether or not the Leafs or the Golden Knights will come out on top.
Based on the lack of playoff success, things could not get any worse for the Leafs. If anything, this is the perfect reset.
