Toronto Native Brutally Rejects the Maple Leafs for the Most Ridiculous Reason

Andrew Mangiapane is someone whom general manager Brad Treliving knows quite well. After all, the forward played for Treliving in Calgary.

As a result, Treliving was looking to add Mangiapane in free agency. The Leafs need some bottom-six depth, and he would have been the perfect option.

Unfortunately, the forward opted to go to the Edmonton Oilers instead. Overall, it was a surprising decision, especially since Mangiapane is a Toronto native who could have played for his hometown team.

According to Nick Kypreos, the forward chose to avoid the Maple Leafs because of concerns surrounding the market itself.

The Toronto media is known for being difficult at times, and the city is not for everyone. Although Kypreos did mention Michael Pezzetta, who is embracing the market.

Ultimately, the Leafs cannot afford to employ players who are wishy washy about playing in Toronto. They need guys who want to be there.

The Maple Leafs just got rid of Mitch Marner, who clearly had one foot out the door the entire time.

Now, there is a real opportunity to change the vibe of the locker room and make sure the team has as much chemistry as possible going into next season.

Even if the team is shorter on talent, good chemistry might just be the answer to making sure the Leafs go further than they have in years.
