Anthony Stolarz was sensational in goal for the Toronto Maple Leafs this past season. He had a goals-against average of 2.14, a save percentage of .926, four shutouts, and 21 wins in 34 games.
Anthony Stolarz contract extension talks
According to Nick Alberga of The Leafs Nation, it seems like a Stolarz contract extension is not on the team's radar right now.
Instead, the team would prefer to focus on adding a top-six forward, as well as some depth in the bottom-six.
Hearing the Leafs haven't engaged in extension talks with Anthony Stolarz yet.
For now, their focus remains on adding a top-six forward.
It should also be noted that the team has Joseph Woll locked in for a few more years as well. This puts the franchise in an awkward spot, as soon, they will have to decide on which goalie is their future.
One is younger (Woll), but both have had their fair share of injury issues over the years. There is no telling what the team will decide.
Regardless, Stolarz has an incredible opportunity this upcoming season. If he can stay healthy and replicate his performance from last season, the Leafs may be left with no choice.
Hopefully, the goaltending situation continues to be a strong point for the Leafs, for years to come.
