Insider Exposes the Toronto Maple Leafs' Blockbuster Offer to Brock Boeser

Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving was looking to make some big moves in free agency, and it appears as though Brock Boeser was on his list.
Brock Boeser had a huge decision to make this summer as the Vancouver Canucks had a down year in which they failed to make the postseason.
In many ways, the Canucks had a similar season to the New York Rangers. They went from contenders last season to outright disasters in 2024-25.
As a result, many felt like it was a foregone conclusion that Boeser would leave the Canucks and sign with someone else for more money.
However, Boeser flipped free agency on its head when he re-signed with the Canucks for seven years at an AAV of $7.25 million.

In a new article for the Toronto Star, Nick Kypreos dropped a bit of a bombshell, claiming that the Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Brad Treliving made an offer to Boeser.
Simply put, they were willing to give the forward more money. Unfortunately, they were not willing to match the term.
According to Kyper, the Leafs offered Boeser a higher AAV than Vancouver did, but Vancouver offered more term.

With the Leafs whiffing on Brad Marchand and in desperate need of a right-winger, it makes sense that the team would want to go after Boeser.
However, it makes just as much sense that Boeser would want to stay in Vancouver and remain in a comfortable situation with his family.
Besides, if this team doesn't figure it out, we're sure the franchise would do right by him if he ever decided that it was time for a trade.
Now, general manager Brad Treliving will simply have to find himself a new target, which is a lot easier said than done.
