Toronto Maple Leafs forward John Tavares hit a special milestone on Saturday night, and it puts him in the same company as Wayne Gretzky and others.
John Tavares had himself a good game against the Seattle Kraken last night as he scored two goals in what turned out to be a loss.
The loss was actually quite controversial for a whole host of reasons, and there are some Maple Leafs fans who want to see some sort of reckoning.
John Tavares gets 500 points with the Toronto Maple Leafs
While this milestone is cool on its own, it actually puts him in rare company as he is the fourth player in NHL history to score 500 points with multiple franchises.
Wayne Gretzky actually did it with the Edmonton Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings, which is pretty cool.
Mark Messier did with the Oilers and New York Rangers, while Ron Francis did it with the Carolina Hurricanes, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Hartford Whalers.

If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, you can't help but love the fact that a guy like Tavares remains on the team for so long.
Only time will tell whether or not Tavares remains with the team until the end of his career. We at least have four more years of him.
Hopefully, the former captain can inspire his teammates to be better, as the last few games have not been acceptable.
