Ken Dryden is easily one of the most iconic goalies in the history of the NHL, and after a battle with cancer, the former Leafs exec and politician sadly passed away.

Ken Dryden played a total of eight seasons in the NHL, and in those eight seasons, he won a grand total of six Stanley Cups. It was an exceptional run, and one we will never see again.
This, of course, was accented by four Stanley Cups in a row between 1976 and 1979. Dryden was a tour de force during these years, and the Habs had an unbeatable roster.
Following his retirement, Dryden would eventually go into broadcasting, and by 1997, he was the President of the Toronto Maple Leafs, all the way up until 2004.
Eventually, the former netminder would go into politics, where he was elected as an MP as a member of the Liberal Party of Canada.

Ken Dryden was a legend

Over the past little while, Dryden had been battling cancer, and over the last few weeks, things had taken an unfortunate turn for the worse.
On Friday night, it was announced that Dryden had passed away, at the age of 78.
Tributes have been going around on social media, with many showcasing just how beloved Ken Dryden was.
This is a man who was so gifted at his sport, but realized he had a higher calling in life. Quite frankly, he is easily one of the smartest and most intellectual people to ever play the game.
He is in the Hockey Hall of Fame, and that is extremely well deserved, given what he was able to accomplish.
RIP to the legendary Ken Dryden.
