Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi and defenseman Brandon Carlo got into it at practice today in what is being described as a fit of passion between competitors.

Max Domi has been struggling this season and that is well-documented by everyone who has been paying attention.
Therefore, it should not come as much of a surprise to anyone that Domi would get defensive and downright aggressive if someone on his own team were to challenge him.

Max Domi and Brandon Carlo go at it

That is what occurred on Friday morning at Maple Leafs practice as Brandon Carlo gave Max Domi a huge shove into the boards.
According to Lance Hornby, Domi was quick to retaliate and it led to a quick altercation. Carlo was quick to go over to apologize and things eventually smoothed over.
Brandon Carlo gave Max Domi a heavy shove into the end boards on a rush and Max retaliated. A contrite Carlo came over to make sure Max was okay.
While some might find this to be concerning, others simply see it as an example of just how hard Domi is willing to compete these days, even with his struggles in mind.
He is a player with a ton of pride and he wants to show that he is not going to be a pushover. The same can be said of Brandon Carlo, who is competing hard during practices.
The team is fired up and with the playoffs on the horizon, this is the kind of mentality that you need to have. Even if it comes at the expense of some decorum in the moment.
Either way, we hope Domi and Carlo got past it and are now ready to play the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night in what will be an important matchup.
