The Toronto Maple Leafs lost both defenseman Jake McCabe and forward David Kampf to injury on Wednesday night and on Friday, the team got more bad news.
Jake McCabe and David Kampf are two players on opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of the Toronto Maple Leafs pecking order.
Both got injured against the Florida Panthers a few games ago and Leafs fans are very worried about their status going into the postseason.
Jake McCabe and David Kampf absent from practice
Today, the Maple Leafs were back at practice as they look to prepare for the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday in a game that will be pivotal for the Atlantic Division title fight.
Unfortunately, both Jake McCabe and David Kampf were not at practice, which suggests that they are not going to be in the lineup against the Blue Jackets come Saturday evening.
The Leafs will need to hope that these are not serious injuries, especially in the case of McCabe who remains one of the best players on the team.
When he isn't in the lineup, the Leafs struggle and it remains to be seen whether or not this is an injury that will last a long time.
Regardless, this is something that the Maple Leafs are going to need to worry about going forward, and one has to wonder if call-ups are coming.
Hopefully, this is all a precaution and McCabe and Kampf get back on the ice sooner rather than later.
