Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi recently made some comments about Chris Tanev that demonstrate just how amazing the Leafs defenseman really is.

Max Domi has been on the Toronto Maple Leafs for a few years now, so he certainly knows what makes this team tick night in and night out.
Unfortunately, one of the leaders of the team, Chris Tanev, went down with an injury on Tuesday night in a game against the New Jersey Devils.
It was a rough go for the Maple Leafs, and for now, the defenseman remains questionable going into the weekend slate of games.

Max Domi on Chris Tanev

After the game, Domi was asked about the Tanev injury, which led to some interesting comments. For instance, he said that Tanev is a very tough customer and that seeing him not get up made things that much scarier.
He then noted that Tanev is the kind of guy who will pull you into war, no matter what.
I'm not going to lie, when he stays down, it's definitely scary, because I've never played with a guy as tough as Chris Tanev. It's not a good feeling as a group when you see a guy like that go down.

He'll drag guys into the war with him without even having to say a word, just by going out and playing his shift. He's a huge part of our group, and we're lucky to have him doing what he does every night.
Given how anemic the Leafs have been to start the season, it is clear that Tanev is more important than ever before.
That is what makes his injury such a blow to the Toronto Maple Leafs. They need to be a lot better than what they are right now.
Without Tanev in the lineup, we worry about what the accountability is going to look like. For this weekend, it could very well be nonexistent.
Hopefully, the Maple Leafs are able to get some good news about their defenseman.
