Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner is going to be the most sought-after man in the NHL this summer, and some teams are going to be throwing stupid money at him.
Mitch Marner is coming off a season where he had 27 goals, 75 assists, and a whopping 102 points. This was the best season of his career, and he did it in the last year of his contract.

According to reporter Chris Johnston, there are a few teams that would love to throw some intense money at Marner. One of those teams is the Chicago Blackhawks, who desperately need someone to pair with
Connor Bedard.
While Johnston did not confirm the number Chicago would offer, it can be inferred by the various reports we have seen surrounding that $15 million number.

The Blackhawks have the cap space to make those numbers work. Furthermore, they are a desperate team in a very desperate situation.
One of the major issues with Marner, however, is that he has yet to perform well in the postseason, which should be seen as a deterrent from spending loads of money on him.
You can even argue that there is no world in which he should be making more money than a guy like
Mikko Rantanen.
Either way, Marner is in for a huge payday, and some teams are losing their minds a bit here as they try to acquire the best player available this summer.
