Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner has been playing some of his best hockey as he currently leads the team in points so far this season.
Through the first 10 games of the year, not counting last night's Seattle Kraken tilt, Marner had 1 goal and 10 assists. Meanwhile, he led the team in ice time with 21:42 per game. This is 50 seconds more than Auston Matthews, which just goes to show how valuable Marner is.
However, it now appears as though Marner's inner circle is upset with this development. According to a report from Darren Dreger, some people on Marner's team thing he is being "overplayed." They think this could subsequently lead to some sort of injury.
Only time will tell what is next for this Leafs team. However, if the superstars continue to play at a high level, then there is no doubt that they can go very far.
As for Craig Berube, he will have to make some very interesting decisions soon regarding ice time.
