Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner is still very attached to his previous team, and his recent link-up is the perfect example of that.

Mitch Marner is certainly an enemy of the state in Toronto right now, given the fact that he abandoned the franchise for the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
When he returns to Toronto, he is going to be booed profusely, and we wonder how he is going to react to being the most hated man in the entire city.
This season as a whole is going to be interesting for Marner, as the expectations are high in Las Vegas, and the team wants a title.
If Mitch Marner doesn't play well in the postseason, he can expect lots of scrutiny, similar to what he would experience in Toronto.

Mitch Marner and Joe Thornton

Interestingly, Marner still has some ties to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and he has not forgotten where he came from or saw the majority of his early success.
We say that because today, the forward was photographed with his newborn son and former Leafs teammate, Joe Thornton.
Thornton clearly had a huge impact on the Core Four during his brief stint with the team, and Marner is definitely included in that.
Funny enough, Thornton is a polarizing figure among Maple Leafs fans and for good reason. He wasn't always the best player, especially in the postseason.
Some feel as though his guidance is actually a big reason why Marner and Auston Matthews haven't been great in the postseason.
Regardless, these two are still very good friends, and if Marner is bad with the Golden Knights, then fans might change their tune on Thornton.
