Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves is currently playing with the Toronto Marlies right now and he is already breaking critical AHL rules.
Back at the trade deadline, the Toronto Maple Leafs put enforcer
Ryan Reaves on waivers knowing that he was going to have to go in order to bring in new guys for the playoffs.
Ryan Reaves breaks the rules in the AHL
However, it did not come without some controversy. The AHL rulebook states that you need to wear a visor on the ice, something that Reaves has never had to do in the NHL.
While the forward did put on a visor, he cocked it all the way back on his helmet, so he was barely wearing it to begin with. As per the rules, this could lead to some hefty fines for the enforcer.
In typical Ryan Reaves fashion, he found himself in a scrum at one point, which is exactly why they had him on the ice to begin with.
It wasn't the biggest deal in the world, but it was good to see him showcase some toughness knowing that this latest trip down to the AHL could be the end of the road for his career.
As for the visor situation, the Marlies may have to sit him down and let him know that the visor must stay on from this point forward.
While the organization can afford the fine, it would be a lot more fun to not have to pay for something like that.
Whatever the case may be we wish Ryan Reaves nothing but the best on his new journey in the American Hockey League. We hope he gets what he wants out of it.
