Ryan Reaves was demoted from the Toronto Maple Leafs to the Toronto Marlies earlier this month and he has since impressed Marlies coach John Gruden.
Since that time, Reaves has yet to play a game for the AHL team, although he is reportedly staying ready and attending practices.

In a new report from
The Leafs Nation, it was revealed that Marlies head coach John Gruden is extremely impressed with Reaves so far.
He noted that the enforcer has been an example of professionalism within the organization and that everyone is very impressed with what he has done with the young guys.
«We've had him in for two days and it's been great because he brings a certain professionalism and energy,» Gruden said. «It helps with those younger guys too. He's been really good.»
This is obviously great to hear and it shows that Reaves is embracing this role even though it probably isn't what he wanted.
At 38 years old, this is probably going to be the end of the road for Ryan Reaves, and it is important for him to leave the game on good terms.
The Marlies are a team that has a chance to do some damage and perhaps even compete for the Calder Cup.
With that said, we hope Ryan Reaves can get some playing time down the stretch even if he may not contribute offensively.
