Toronto Maple Leafs forward Scott Laughton finally got his first goal with the team in a game against the San Jose Sharks but he wishes things were different.

Since coming to the Toronto Maple Leafs from the Philadelphia Flyers, it has been a bit of a struggle for Scott Laughton.
In his first nine games as a member of the Leafs, the forward failed to register a single point and many fans were starting to get worried about the trade.
However, last night, Laughton got the monkey off of his back as he finally scored a goal, this time in a game against the San Jose Sharks.

His goal sparked a serious comeback for the Leafs who were able to force the game into overtime and subsequently, a shootout.
However, the team ended up losing by a score of 6-5 and quite frankly, it was a horrible outing for goaltender Joseph Woll.
While Laughton did not speak to the goaltending situation after the game, he did note that his main goal is to see the Leafs win and that he wishes they could have gotten the W. For him that is much more important than scoring.
"It was nice probably for my own confidence, and nice to get one for sure. But it would've been a lot nicer to get a win and not score."
The Toronto Maple Leafs keep losing to bad teams in what some fans have called "scheduled losses." It is a bad phenomenon that the Leafs need to get over.
To make matters worse, this team is currently in the midst of a battle for first place in the Atlantic Division, and not getting two points puts the team in a bad spot.
With the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks coming up this weekend, the Leafs are going to have to be stout and take things incredibly seriously.
