Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe went down with an injury against the Florida Panthers and this has led to fears that he will be out for a long time.
Jake McCabe has been one of if not the best defenseman on the Toronto Maple Leafs this season and it is hard to argue with that given his statistics.
His +23 net rating is sensational and it is an example of just how responsible he is whenever the puck is in his own zone, or quite frankly, on the tape of his stick.
Jake McCabe Injury update
While speaking to the media, Leafs head coach Craig Berube claimed that the injury is day-to-day.
Furthermore, he confirmed that McCabe would not be in the lineup on Saturday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Renowned sports specialist, Dr. Harjas Grewal took to Twitter on Friday, claiming that the injury looks like a separated shoulder, which will likely take a few days to heal.
However, he did note that every player is different and that some guys even play immediately with a quick injection.

While this update is encouraging, there are still no guaranties as it pertains to Jake McCabe and all Leafs fans can do right now is remain hopeful.
If the Leafs can get him back next week for games against the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning, that would go a long way.
