Nick Robertson is someone the Toronto Maple Leafs might trade, and the Pittsburgh Penguins have become the most likely candidate for a potential deal.

This is going to be an interesting season for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and there are certain players on the team that will be fascinating to watch.
One of those players is none other than Nick Robertson, who just got himself a one-year deal that some fans feel is a bit too rich.
Overall, Robertson struggled at times last season, and with so many bottom-six additions to the Leafs, there is no telling if he will have a spot on the roster.

Is Nick Robertson going to be traded by the Toronto Maple Leafs?

According to Cole Shelton of Heavy.com, the Pittsburgh Penguins could be a great place to trade Robertson, and there is one player that would make sense in return.
That would be Anthony Mantha, who has struggled with injuries his entire career. Whenever he does get healthy, he picks up a ton of points. For instance, he once had 24 goals in an 80-game campaign.
Mantha can add some offense to the Maple Leafs' offense and also give Toronto more size. He's a 6-foot-5, 234-pound forward who scores and is difficult to play against, especially in the playoffs.

Ultimately, Toronto needs to add more offensive players, and Mantha has proven he can score. But, this is a trade that likely would happen at the deadline, as Toronto will no doubt want to see how Mantha is coming back from a knee injury.

As for Robertson and the Penguins, there is already a connection there thanks to former Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas.
Kyle Dubas drafted Robertson while he was the GM of the Maple Leafs. Robertson would get a bigger role with Pittsburgh and be part of their rebuild and young core.

If a trade is made, it is more likely that we see it take place around the trade deadline.
For now, Robertson is going to have to prove himself and show that he really is someone the Leafs can use when it matters.
