Toronto Maple Leafs are in the Process of Trying to Trade Two Struggling Forwards

Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving needs to get something done, and fast, as the offseason is almost here, without a single transaction completed.
There were a few players on the Toronto Maple Leafs last season who did not pull their weight when it came to offensive production.
Most of those players could be found in the bottom six. The Leafs' offensive depth was atrocious, and guys like
David Kampf were huge culprits.

According to
James Mirtle of The Athletic, Kampf and Jarnkrok are two players that the Leafs are trying to trade away right now.
Unfortunately, no trades are materializing right now. This is because very few teams want these assets. Instead, the Leafs may have to wait for July 1st.
On the Leaf Report, James Mirtle says that some teams think Domi is interesting, and there's a lot of teams lacking talent up front that might want to add a player like that-it is possible the Leafs can move him
Mirtle adds the Leafs are trying to trade Kampf and Jarnkrok, but haven't been able to yet. Those two might have to wait until after July 1st
If a trade cannot be completed, then Brad Treliving will have no choice but to go through the buyout process, which wouldn't actually save much money.
Quite frankly, this is a bit of a nightmare scenario for the Maple Leafs, who are already dealing with a barren UFA market outside of
Sam Bennett and
Brad Marchand.
In a week from today, Free Agency will officially begin, and it is going to be a truly fascinating few weeks.
