With the Toronto Maple Leafs looking to improve their forward group, there are reports that New York Rangers center Vincent Trochek could be dealt soon.
However, general manager Brad Treliving can still make some moves to make this team better and get it to where it needs to be.
Toronto Maple Leafs trade rumors
However, former Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer
Jay Rosehill is suggesting another player that the Leafs could target. That player is Vincent Trochek of the New York Rangers.
The right-handed center can also play the wing, and his current age and contract would be perfect for the lineup. Or, at least, that is how Rosehill is feeling.
Another guy is
Vincent Trocheck. He's 32 years old, so he's got the experience. I just think that you put him in this lineup, he would fit. It's like there's kind of a big missing piece in this forward group, kind of in that middle-six type of deal. And to fill it with a high-end guy like Trocheck, it would just be like, the balance would just be humming.
Two seasons ago, Trochek finished with 77 points. Last season, he had 59 points but 26 goals. Not to mention, it was a down year for the Rangers in general.
Having said all of this, there are no concrete reports that the Rangers are interested in moving on from the forward. For now, that seems pretty unlikely.
Not to mention, the Maple Leafs do not have a ton of assets to make a trade like this happen, which is certainly a deterrent from anything concrete happening.
Only time will tell whether or not the Leafs can turn things around here and get an improved roster before the season officially begins in October.
