After a few seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Marlies, forward Kyle Clifford has opted to make a huge decision regarding his life and career.
Kyle Clifford is a player who was brought in just a few years ago to help the Toronto Maple Leafs have more size and just a bit more grit.
A few years ago, it became clear that Clifford was no longer NHL material, and he was sent down to the AHL, where he became an elder statesman for the Toronto Marlies.
His play in the AHL has remained extremely consistent, and his younger teammates have appreciated all of the wisdom he has been able to impart.
Kyle Clifford calls it a career
When the development camp began, Clifford was seen working as a mentor of sorts, which led to speculations about the 34-year-old's playing career.
However, yesterday, it was revealed that Clifford would be retiring from the NHL and joining the Maple Leafs front office as a member of the player development staff.
Today, the Maple Leafs confirmed the news by going to social media and congratulating Clifford on his career.

Now, Clifford will get to enjoy some time with his family, while also continuing to work in the world of hockey.
This is the best of both worlds, and we want to take the time to congratulate Clifford on a career that included two Stanley Cups.
